Explore the Mid-Atlantic Art Scene and the Capital with the Palo Alto Art Center Foundation by joining our first trip to Baltimore and Washington DC! From our stylish Art Nouveau boutique hotel in Charm City, we'll visit the commanding Baltimore Museum of Art, the fun and funky American Visionary Art Museum, the intimate Walters Collection and the extraordinary contemporary private collection at pastoral Glenstone. Gain insider perspectives from artist studio visits and dine on soft-shell crabs and giant oysters at a historic seafood "shack" and a top chef-driven restaurant as we experience the best of this waterfront city.

In DC, we will take a night tour of historic monuments from our Museum-adjacent Kimpton Hotel near the National Mall. Exciting culinary destinations include an evening at a José Andrés** restaurant, lunch at the Eastern Market and visionary ethnic cuisine. Curators will take us behind-the-scenes to numerous sites in the expansive Smithsonian Institution, including the National Museum of African American History and Culture, the Renwick and the Hirshhorn, and new exhibit featuring Felix Gonzalez Torres' art across three sites, and the National Museum of Women in the Arts, among others. We'll view the Rubell's private art collection at their new DC site and we'll cross the bridge in time and culture to experience African-American history in Anacostia, touring the Community Museum and Frederick Douglass estate Cedar Hill. We’ll be immersed in the cultural vibrancy of this diverse part of our country.

You won’t want to miss this incredible chance to revisit familiar spots with a unique art lens or experience these important U.S. cities for the first time. We can’t wait to travel with you!

**José Andrés is an internationally recognized restauranteur and cookbook author, and the famed founder of the nonprofit World Central Kitchen.
